James Lind Institute (JLI) in collaboration with the International Telematic University, UNINETTUNO, Rome, Italy offers this unique program that allows you to earn an advanced postgraduate diploma and then progress this to a Master of Science in Health Management awarded by the prestigious International Telematic University, UNINETTUNO.


The program has been carefully designed by experienced faculty and provides participants with an understanding of healthcare from a worldwide perspective ranging from developing countries in Africa to developed countries such as those in Europe.

Course Structure

TOTAL CREDITS: 90

The program is conducted in two stages:

Stage 1 (Advanced PG Diploma Level - 32 CREDITS):

In this stage the student will be required to opt for ANY of the Advanced PG Diploma programs awarded by the James Lind Institute. Following are some recommended options but you may choose any other program.

Upon completion of Stage 1 the student will be transferred to Stage 2.

Stage 2 (Upgrade to Masters):

Upon completion of Stage 1, JLI will transfer the student to the International Telematic University for masters upgrade. All credits earned during stage 1 will be transferred for the masters level. During Stage 2 the student is required to complete the following 4 modules and a thesis:

- Principles of Health Management
- Decision Making, Planning and Leadership
- Information Technology in Health Systems
- Anthropology and Sociology of Health and Medical Care

&

- Dissertation / thesis


Course duration

Self Paced 18 to 24 months (Maximum duration 36 months)

A student enrolled in the Master of Science in Health Management is expected to study online about fifteen hours per week.


Course Assessment

In Stage 1 assessment involves online multiple choice questions for each lecture, followed by assignments for each study module.


Overall academic performance in the program is measured on a 4 point Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) scale. More information about this is available here: Evaluation System

In Stage 2 student will be required to submit a written essay for each Study Module, and undergo either an oral exam (viva voce) by means of teleconferencing or a written examination at the university's international locations or Italian Embassy. In addition the student needs to submit a 15,000 word thesis on a topic assigned by the scientific committee of the International Telematic University.

Upon completion Stage 1 James Lind Institute will send the certificate & transcript via post; and upon completion of Stage 2 the student can receive the masters degree by either attending a graduation ceremony at the University Campus in Rome or may request the same to be dispatched to his/her address by courier.

Eligibility Criteria & Documents Required

A bachelor's degree preferably in life sciences is required for applying. In addition good command over English language is needed. Formal English language examination results such as TOEFL or IELTS are NOT required. Also basic knowledge about the use of computers and internet are a must as the program is conducted online.

- Copy of Bachelors Degree
- Copies of university transcripts / marks sheets for each semester/year
- Copy of Passport / National ID card
- TOEFL/IELTS score sheet (NOT Mandatory)

Internship Opportunities

The University offers to students the optional opportunity to facilitate them in order to spend part of their studies, when they draft their research dissertation project, as interns in a European Union member state. The Internship Program is coordinated by the Organisation Atheneum Liberal Studies.


Academic Support

Throughout the course, the students can interact with the faculty and other students via the “Online Campus Tutoring Centre” to discuss any coursework related issues.


Each student enrolled in the Master of Science in Health Management is assigned a mentor throughout the course who will be a senior professional from the industry.
