Many organizations have initiated several public health projects that encourage countries to take part and focus on issues such as rights of humans, fight for justice, and other health-related programs that aid to create awareness of the many severe maladies that various communities and populations are faced with.
This Public Health Research Program examines some public health interventions thus delivering a new understanding of the advantages, expenses, acceptability and broader impacts of interventions supposed to enhance the health of the community and decrease inequalities in health. The program is comprehensive, and covers a wide range of study modules that explain in detail the various interventions that help to enhance public health.
It also stresses on public health administration which is the part of public health that focuses on management of people and initiatives relating to public health. This field of administration pertains to hypothesis and methods derived from a range of fields, chiefly management. To work as a public health administrator requires a thorough understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the personnel involved in this niche area.
Public health administration includes finance, human resources planning and management, performance metrics and improvement, marketing and communications, and sustaining relations with personnel in the media and local governmental bodies.

The curriculum for the public health course - Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health Research (APDPHR) is comprehensive and has been developed and evaluated by experienced public health professionals making it suitable for new graduates who want to make a career in public health as well as professionals already working in healthcare / public health sector.
OPTIONAL UPGRADE TO MASTER'S LEVEL: James Lind Institute in collaboration with the International Telematic University, UNINETTUNO, Rome, Italy conducts a Master of Science in Health Management. Students who complete the Advanced PG Diploma in Public Health Research and who meet the eligibility criteria for master's can opt for an upgrade to this program by submitting the difference in total fee plus a nominal university transfer fee (USD 250/-). How will I be assessed?
Course assessment involves online multiple choice questions for each lecture, followed by assignments for each study module.
Am I eligible?
The minimum eligibility criteria for Advanced PG Diploma in Public Health Research (APGDPHR) would include either of the following:
- Any degree in Bioscience/Life Sciences such as Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Botany, Zoology etc
- Any degree in Medicine such as MBBS, BDS, BPT, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS etc
- Any degree in Pharmacy / Pharmaceutical Sciences
- Any degree in Chemistry / Biostatistics / Bioinformatics
- Any degree in Nursing / Allied Health.
- Students in their final year of graduation for the above courses are also eligible to apply.
If you lack the above mentioned educational prerequisite you may still be eligible to apply if you have some prior work experience in public health / health management / allied areas. Please contact our admission representatives / counsellor to discuss your case.
What support will I receive?
Throughout the course, the students can interact with the faculty and other students via the e-Campus to discuss any coursework related issues.
Each student enrolled in the Advanced Post-Graduate Diploma in Public Health Research Course (APGDPHR) is also assigned a mentor throughout the course who will be a senior professional from the industry. Towards the end of the program you will be provided placement assistance if required and career development support via the “Student Success Team”.
